The “Quarto Stato” divides critics

The idea of moving the “Fourth Estate” by Pellizza da Volpedo at Palazzo Marino is dicussed.

Giacomo Valtolina refers to the comments and considerations of the critics and the exponents of the world of art and politics.

In the article even Guido Galimberti’s speech; according to him anywhere would be better than the present small dark tunnel that sacrifices the work, though a return to the Gallery of Modern Art would be desirable because it is accessible to all the Milanese.

The collector Guido Galimberti comments with Affaritaliani.it on the Caste of art

Guido Galimberti takes part in the debate launched by Affaritaliani.it about the existence of an alleged Caste of art, an expression he believes too strong because it implies that the art world is comparable to a mafia system in some way, a thesis that isn’t supported by facts or documentation.

The debate comes to life from the figure of François Penault and from the fact that we complain that Venice is “in the hands of a Frenchman”, but the attitude of the owner of the prestigiuos action house Christie’s, as anyone would consider critical, produces concrete action, culture, movement, says Galimberti.

The intervention concludes with the hope that the made in Italy could find stability and the courage to stop looking admired abroad, focusing on the potential of his art because our country has nothing to envy to cities such as Berlin or New York if not that bit of cleverness in “selling well” the heritage that belongs to us.
