Davide Furno, born in Biella in 1963, after graduating from the IED in Milan, worked for years as a graphic designer and advertiser, combining his profession with a passion for craftsmanship, particularly for gold leaf and gouache, and then became a true master of wax.
Reviving an ancient and completely forgotten technique, he was the first in Italy in 1996 to give new life and dignity to ceroplasty. He studied under the master Garnier Valletti, a modeler of flowers and fruits in wax: a discipline that, with the aid of animal and vegetable waxes, natural resins, plasters, and powders, brings flowers and fruits to life. From a raw fruit, after 8 to 10 coats of whitening and varnishes and about 8 weeks of work, he models extraordinary compositions.
