Romano Bertuzzi born in Forno di Coli, Piacenza, 1956, lives and works in Piacenza is an Italian painter, sculptor.
He has exhibited since the 70s in Italy and abroad.
“Romano has translated the observation of the elements of nature into body gestures at his own measure, in ever-changing signs. He leads us on a surprising journey into the infinitely small that surprised him first and connected him to everything. Everything becomes a sign, many small signs repeated like a mantra, restless sounds in the black that become harmonies in the white. …”
(Excerpt from the text by Maria Rosa Pividori ‘Starting from reality to go as far as possible’)
Romano’s privileged subject is NATURE which is always a starting point to not get lost, just like the personal and amazing memory of childhood that becomes collective memory.
Romano Bertuzzi’s work investigates an unspeakable world. He notes what appears or is disappearing, he senses what is important to retain or eliminate to make memory, to nourish the soul.
They are all black and white drawings, white/light the sheet and black the graphite marks.
