Luigi Negro Barquez, Villanova delle Grotte (UD) 1950, resident there, lived in Milan from 1976 to 2014. He is a visual artist and poet deeply connected to nature. He has been exhibiting since 1978 in Italy and abroad. From 1989 to 2014, he was represented by Dieci.due! international research contemporary art in Milan. Since 2019, he has maintained a continuous relationship with the Spaziotemporaneo gallery in Milan.
All of his work attempts to weave together an imaginary (with points and lines, knots and numbers, tensions and mirrored balances), seeking never to propose a recognizably objective image but always reinterpreting and constructing it. L.N.B. is always inspired by an image recognized in nature to build and develop a language.

Mental and silent works, aimed at grasping, revealing, and probing the invisible forces and energies present in nature, which all that exists carries within and which does not capture our attention: this is how the various series of works by Luigi Negro Barquez appear to me, to which he has given the title Segni sognati (Dreamed Signs). Signs, therefore, that originate in the imagination from which dreams come, since it is not only the faculty of the possible but the place where knowledge itself settles, which hinges on the imaginary…(From the text ‘Epifanie del segno’ by Eleonora Fiorani)

…They are works of intense spirituality, almost domestic mystical totems, a tribute to thought, to harmony, to that sensitive and fragile soul present in all things and which can only be touched through profound purification, a solitary journey, and careful reflection.(From the text “Contrappunti” by L. Giudici)
