Giancarlo Sangregorio (Milan, April 20, 1925 – Sesto Calende, July 8, 2013) was a sculptor.
Giancarlo began sculpting marble works as a self-taught artist, using materials extracted from the quarries of Val d’Ossola, a beautiful place where he often chose to spend long periods. From 1950 to 1958, he frequently stayed in Versilia with his brother Giuseppe to work on the marble of the Apuan Alps.
Having established himself as a sculptor, Giancarlo Sangregorio participated in several exhibitions in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, and Japan in the years following 1964. In Italy, he continued to exhibit his works in major art cities.
Today, Giancarlo Sangregorio’s works are mainly held in private and public collections both in Italy and abroad. Additionally, numerous monuments by him can be found in the streets and squares of various European cities.
